Happy New Year, everyone! Like many of you, I have a few resolutions for this new year. One of them is to become an even better writer. I realize, of course, that if I were to try to make every reader happy, I’d go crazy, because you can never make everyone happy. However, there are lots of you who already like my writing, and I want to keep you happy and entertained. You are the people I write for in the first place.
So, if you feel like giving me a piece of your mind, I encourage it. Some of you already do (through email, comments here, or through Facebook), and I appreciate those comments more than you know. Anytime you want to give me your opinion or thoughts, I want to hear them!
Today, though, I’d like to solicit a little specific information. If you’re shy, please opt out and just send me your psychic vibes. If you’d like to participate, though, you can drop me a line, Facebook me, or post a comment. I would love your input.
The first question I have for you surrounds the next book I’ll be working on, a little rock star “fantasy” called MADversary [republished in 2020 as Love and Music]. You might have initially found me because of Tangled Web (another little rock star fantasy), and because it’s been my bestselling book, I realize it’s a reader favorite. I’d like to keep my readers happy! So…I want to know what you’d like to read about (within the confines of the plot, of course, which I don’t want to reveal as yet, because I’m still fleshing out the details). Specifically, when you’re drooling over rock stars, which guy in the lineup gets you the most excited? Is it the frontman with his sexy baritone voice and bedroom eyes? Is it the guitarist whose fingers are made for playing a variety of instruments? Is it the drummer who makes your heart pound? Or does it vary from band to band or guy to guy, or do you love ‘em all and refuse to play favorites? Any specific bands that get you all excited? Any particular bedroom trick you’d like explored in print?
The second question I have surrounds The Nicki Sosebee Series. Book 6 (Lost) [republished in 2020 as Breaking News] is now locked and loaded and should be appearing on Amazon exclusively for the Kindle in the next day or so (I’m gonna go out on a limb and predict Monday, January 2). This book is a game changer and sets the stage for the remainder of the series. I don’t want to give too much away, but let me just say the next five books in the series are already loosely outlined. Based on where the series is heading, though, here are my questions for you. Are any of you familiar with any small towns in the U.S. that are viewed as politically corrupt? Any true stories out there that really highlight that sort of environment? I know of a few myself, but I want to keep my fiction fictitious but realistic, and one of the best ways is through extensive research. So…if you know any compelling stories (whether real or urban legend), please feel free to share. I’d like to keep Nicki as realistic as possible!
Thanks again, my friends. I have felt truly blessed and honored this past year, and I don’t want to let you down. I hope each and every one of you has a wonderful new year.
UPDATE 3/15/24: Back when I first started publishing on Amazon, there were no pre-orders and, although we had an idea of when a book might appear on the site after pressing Publish, we could never be too sure. I’m grateful for the ability to schedule pre-orders on all publishing platforms nowadays.
Which books of mine have you read? Any of the ones I talk about above? Let me know in the comments below!
