I am so excited to share my upcoming release with you! First…let’s check out the pretty cover! š
His past was supposed to stay in the past.
Dane, Last Five Secondsā drummer, is the āquietā one. Itās not just because his bandmates are boisterous and love sucking up the limelight.
Itās part of who he is, where he comes from. But heās determined to break free from the chains of his past.
When it catches up to him, his comfortable world shatters, leaving him with an injured back and an inability to perform his work onstage. To get back on the road as soon as possible, he undergoes physical therapy to aid with his recovery.
Enter Charlie. As his physical therapist, sheās a hell of a caregiver, but sheās also feisty. Sometimes sheās abrupt. And snappy. And downright rude. And, like Dane, sheās got a few hidden scars.
But Dane sees something inside her, something that speaks to him. Although Charlie holds him at armās length, even after heās no longer her patient, Dane is finally able to penetrate her armor. While his scars have never fully healed, hers go even deeper.
As they work through their pasts together, Dane is convinced it will make them stronger, but can they ever move beyond their insecurities and hang ups enough to trust each otherā¦or are they destined to be alone?
Coming 12/22/20!
How about an excerpt?
āYou are the smartest person Iāve ever known.ā
āThat wasnāt smart, Dane. It was just the power of deduction.ā
āYeah, and Iāve been in this band forever and never made that connection. Youāre fucking brilliant.ā
āPlease.ā
As she rolled her eyes, Dane buried her in another kiss to make her stop saying mean things about herself. But his cock didnāt get the message that this wasnāt foreplay. Focus, man. When he ended the kiss, he said, āI mean it, Charlie. Stop it. You would never say that kind of shit to one of your patients.ā
āItās not the same thing.ā
āIt is. Iām tellinā you, Charlie. It is. Like I told you earlier, Iāveā¦Iāve started to work on myself. On my head, ācause I know how the past can haunt you, even when it shouldnāt. I know how things from your childhood fuck with your sense of self even when you know youāre fucking successful. I get it. But Iām telling you, as an objective observer, that youāre not giving yourself enough credit.ā
Charlieās smirk kept from him if his words were actually making an impression or if she was blowing him off againābut she was irresistible, nonetheless. āYouāre not exactly objective, Dane. You just had your tongue down my throat.ā
